We live between two lakes.
Not in an equidistant way, or even closer to one than the other. It's more of a back-and-forth sort of arrangement. And that's what this is all about.
On the one hand, there's Lake Michigan.
At 22,400 square miles, it's the largest lake in the country, and the fifth largest in the world. On the southwest shore is a city called Chicago, home to my wife and me – and almost three million other people.
Then there's Big Fish Lake.
Located in Marcellus, Michigan, it's only about 340 acres in size – but we don't have to share it with nearly as many people. We have a home there as well.
So as you might expect, we spend our time in both places. Working by the big lake, and escaping on the weekends to the small one. Loving the city, but yearning for the country. Enjoying life between two lakes.
